Parkside Montessori International Potluck

Friday, august 23, 5:30 - 7:30 PM in the LGI

All Parkside families (Montessori, SDC and Preschool) are invited to join our community at the annual Parkside Montessori International Potluck.

  • Bring a food dish to share (enough for 20 people) from your country of origin, or a family favorite
  • Students are invited to come dressed in cultural attire, and to participate in a fashion show.

International Potluck Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I sign up to attend this event?

There is no sign up to attend the International Potluck. All families from Montessori, SDC and Parkside Preschool classes are welcome to come.

 

Q: How do I sign up to volunteer at this event?

Sign up online HERE to volunteer,or sign up at the school social on Aug 11, or the Welcome Gathering on Aug 13, turn in the flyer with the form filled out to the office or to your child's teacher, or email Tasandra at tasandra84@hotmail.com.

 

Q: How do I sign up my child for the fashion show?

All fashion show participants must complete the online sign up HERE, or turn in the paper form, NO LATER than Thursday, August 22. All fashion show participants MUST be in a costume.

 

Q: What if we do not have a dish from our culture?
Bring any family favorite, anything you like to cook, anything you like to eat, anything you have a chance to pick up…. The important part of the event is coming together as a community.

 

Q: When do I bring the dish?
Bring it with you when you come to the event.  Doors open at 5:30 PM. Tables will be set up for you to put the dish out.

 

Q: How much food should I bring?
Bring a dish with enough food to serve about 20 people (adults/children).

 

Q: Is this a nut free event?
It is not a nut free event. We do ask that all dishes be labeled with what they are, including listing any high allergen foods that are in the dish.  We will have extra labels available at the event.

 

Q: Does my child need to arrive dressed in their cultural outfit if they are in the fashion show?
If your child would like to wear their outfit the whole night, they are welcome to do so. However, we will make an announcement about 15 minutes before the fashion show, so your child can change into them if he/she prefers.
