Parkside LEGO Lab

This is a no-cost, drop-in activity with no enrollment process, facilitated by Julie Park and parent volunteers.

 

What is LEGO Lab? 

It's a fun, education space for students to design, build, and tinker with LEGOs. Parkside has the following LEGO education kits: Story Tales (Duplo), BricQ Motion Essential, SPIKE Essential, SPIKE Prime, over 12,000 LEGO bricks, and a LEGO wall! More info on https://parksidelego.org.

Pre-K to 8th grader students + responsible adults

Where is it?

LGI. After school dismissal, students re-enter Parkside at the LGI gate.

 

Requirements

  • A signed PTA Waiver

  • Pre-K to 3rd graders must be accompanied by a designated adult.

  • 4th - 8th graders, who leaves campus on their own and attend LEGO Lab independently, must complete the After School Release Plan in advance.

  • Students, who attend an afterschool program such as Annex, must be accompanied by an adult.

  • For advanced LEGO kits, students will need their Chromebooks to access building instructions and to program using Scratch or Python.
