2026 Alumni Spotlight
Two cohorts of students have been promoted from Parkside, currently 9th and 10th graders in High School. Here is how they are doing! I hope you enjoy these Alumni Spotlights! - Principal Tahai
Aarnav is doing really well in high school. He has adjusted to the schedule, kept up with classes, joined a club, and made new friends. We’re proud of how responsible and confident he is becoming, and we’re grateful for the foundation Parkside helped build.
Ayleen is part of the Concert Band in Percussion and has played in 3 concerts so far. She's going to have her next one in the spring :)
Christina is part of the cast of the fall and winter theater production. She did a good job and enjoyed it. She is enjoying taking French class. Having good grades in all the classes. Her transition to High School been much easier than she thought.
Eve continues to enjoy many of her classes, including Mandarin and Art, as she maintains a 4.0 at San Mateo High. She has also followed in her sister’s footsteps in bouldering, rock climbing, and working out. Eve continues playing bass and occasionally gets together to play with friends. She is practicing self-care as she navigates the rigors and stress of high school life.
Kylie has made the cheer team and is having an amazing time on the team.
Jackson worked incredibly hard to make the basketball team and didn’t make it this time. Even so, he handled the disappointment with so much maturity and grace. Instead of giving up, he’s staying positive and is now trying out for baseball. I’m so proud of his resilience, determination, and willingness to keep going.
Juliana has had a great start to high school; she has transitioned smoothly and is thriving academically. She also earned a spot on the JV softball team, and has made new friendships and is enjoying high school.
Lena is on the Swim Team!
Ma'ata is getting good grades in her courses.
Nina will enroll in Middle College at College of San Mateo next fall. She looks forward to selecting from CSM's broad range of course offerings and to heating up her lunch in the student center microwave. Hopefully, she'll reunite with other Parkside alums!
Parker continues to love and be challenged at Hillsdale, through both academics and sports. He's earned all A's in his sophomore year, and he loves his teachers, often sharing how excited/engaged he is with the lessons/projects they're doing. He's committed to academic rigor and community service by joining the CSF club and was a starter on the JV basketball team this year. Overall, he's happy and thriving!
Ryoma plays oboe in the Hillsdale High School Wind Ensemble, which received the top rating of "unanimous superior" at the recent CMEA Band/Orchestra Festival.
Sofia was on the JV girls flag football team, which had an undefeated season, and she was also on the freshman girls basketball team.
Go, Parkside Alums! So great to hear about all the Tigers thriving in High School

2025 Alumni Spotlight
In honor of the launch of the alumni association, we spotlight some of our alumni through parent submissions of accomplishments big or small that they wanted to share back with the community… Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger!
Cali is an all A-student for Freshman year! In extra-curriculars she was a JV Cheerleader in the Fall, a JV Co-Captain for Cheer in the Winter, and she got to choreograph her first cheer routine and performed it at two of the games! She is also currently continuing her Track and Field Career (that started at Parkside- thank you, Coach Morrison!) She also joined the Hip Hop Club!
Eve is in a band with a Parkside alum and two new friends!
Gianna has not only excelled in math this year, but it is her favorite class in High School. She will take accelerated math next year and has also chosen to take a few AP classes for her Sophomore year.
Lena is on the swim team and has won first place in some events!
Mateo participated in a Socratic session in English class after reading The Hate U Give. He felt really great about it, how it reflected how well his group works together, and how they each put in the effort. This was reinforced when their teacher said it reminded her of college Socratic seminars, and it was he only time she’s ever given top scores to each person in the group. The big thing about this parent humble brag is that my kid came home so jazzed about this - like brimming with accomplishment :)
Nina earned “Best Jumps” recognition in Fall JV Cheer and earned a placement on the Winter Varsity Cheer team!
Parker has done great at Hillsdale and is loving his Freshman year! He has been incredibly motivated and independent in managing his academics, which is reflected in his grades and his teachers’ feedback. He also made the freshman basketball team- we are very proud of him!
Roshan is a high jumper, long jumper, and triple jumper for the track and field team and is excelling in all of his classes!
