Nature Space
Help Us Transform Concrete into a Living, Learning Space
At Parkside Montessori, we believe children thrive when they connect with the natural world. Currently, our PreK–8th grade students spend their recess and movement breaks on aging concrete. We’re working to change that.
The Nature’s Space Project is our vision to replace paved surfaces with vibrant, natural environments—inviting spaces filled with trees, plants, sensory elements, and ecosystems that inspire curiosity, exploration, and growth.
Why It Matters
-
Supports Whole-Child Development: Natural spaces reduce stress, boost focus, and improve mental and physical well-being.
-
Enriches Montessori Learning: Students observe and interact with nature firsthand, deepening their understanding of the world around them.
-
Fosters Environmental Stewardship: When children care for living things, they grow into responsible, mindful citizens of the world.
This is more than a landscaping project—it’s an educational and developmental investment that will benefit every child, every day.
