Lego Lab
What is LEGO Lab?
This is a no-cost, drop-in activity with no enrollment process, facilitated by Julie Park and other parent volunteers.
It's a fun, educational space for students to design, build, and tinker with LEGOs. Parkside has the following LEGO Education kits: Story Tales (Duplo), BricQ Motion Essential, SPIKE Essential, SPIKE Prime & Expansion, over 13,500 LEGO bricks, and a LEGO wall! More info onhttps://parksidelego.org.
Who can participate?
Pre-K to 8th-grade students + responsible adults
What are the 2025-26dates?
- 2025: 9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 12/4, 12/11
- 2026: 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, & 6/4
What time is it?
2:40 PM to 4:00 PM
Where is it?
LGI. After school dismissal, students re-enter Parkside at the LGI gate.
Requirements
A signedPTA Waiver
Pre-K to 3rd graders must be accompanied by a designated adult.
4th - 6th graders who leave campus on their own and attend LEGO Lab independently must complete theAfter School Release Planin advance.
Students who attend an afterschool program such as Annex must be accompanied by an adult.
For advanced LEGO kits, students will need their Chromebooks to access building instructions and to program using Scratch or Python.
