Lego Lab
What is LEGO Lab?
This is a no-cost, drop-in activity with no enrollment process, facilitated by Julie Park and other parent volunteers.
It's a fun, educational space for students to design, build, and tinker with LEGOs. Parkside has the following LEGO Education kits: Story Tales (Duplo), BricQ Motion Essential, SPIKE Essential, SPIKE Prime & Expansion, over 13,500 LEGO bricks, and a LEGO wall! More info onhttps://parksidelego.org.
Who can participate?
Pre-K to 8th-grade students + responsible adults
What are the 2025-26dates?
- 2025: 9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 12/4, 12/11
- 2026: 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, & 6/4
What time is it?
2:40 PM to 4:00 PM
Where is it?
LGI. After school dismissal, students re-enter Parkside at the LGI gate.
Requirements
- A signedPTA Waiver 
- Pre-K to 3rd graders must be accompanied by a designated adult. 
- 4th - 6th graders who leave campus on their own and attend LEGO Lab independently must complete theAfter School Release Planin advance. 
- Students who attend an afterschool program such as Annex must be accompanied by an adult. 
- For advanced LEGO kits, students will need their Chromebooks to access building instructions and to program using Scratch or Python.
