Location: LGI

What is GOAT?
It is the Greatest of Adolescent Times dance for 7th and 8th graders. It is a drop-off event organized by parent volunteers and sponsored by the PTA.
What is the theme?
This year the kids voted on the theme; the winner is masquerade ball!
What's the dress code?
The suggested attire for this festive evening of mystery is semi-formal with masks highly encouraged. The masquerade theme allows for creativity and personal interpretation. For example, if someone is inspired by the wild west, they can wear a western masquerade fit! Kids are invited to make it their own and wear what makes them feel good.
Where can we get masks?
For ready-made masquerade masks, check out Etsy or party supply stores.
Mask-decorating crafternoon
There is a mask-decorating crafternoon for adolescents who want to make their masks. This is an optional event. All supplies will be provided — just bring your creativity! If your student can’t stay, they are invited to pick up mask supplies to take home.
Date: Friday, 4/25
Time: 1:00-2:30 PM
Location: Parkside Room 16
What happens at the dance?
There will be a DJ, lots of dancing, and a backdrop for photo-taking. Kids are encouraged to have dinner before the dance. Fruits, snacks, sweets, and refreshments will be served. See photos from last year's dance.
Can students request songs?
Absolutely! They can put their songs requests here.
What time does the dance end?
The dance ends at 8:30 PM. Please pick up your child at the LGI at 8:30 PM.
Are grownups allowed at the dance?
No, but you can volunteer.
Event Guidelines and Expectations - Must be reviewed by grown-ups and students
- The GOAT dance is for Parkside adolescent students ONLY - no friends, siblings, or other family members.
- This goes without saying, but no drugs, alcohol, or other substances are allowed.
- To facilitate a fun evening where the kids can be present and enjoy each other's company without distractions, this will be a phone-free event. Students can leave their cell phones at home, keep them in a secure pocket or bag, or check them in/out at the event. There will be a basket for gadgets, kept safe by an adult chaperone. An adult volunteer will be taking photos, in addition to there being a photo booth, so memories of the evening will be captured and shared with families.
- Please plan to have your child picked up promptly at 8:30 PM. The campus will be locked shortly thereafter.
